July 2, 2008 Washington (dbTechno) - It has been confirmed that Microsoft has acquired the search-engine startup company Powerset. Microsoft has made a big move picking up the search engine startup, as they plan to use the company’s natural language search capabilities to help improve their own search engine. The Live Search engine will be getting some improvements thanks to this deal between Microsoft and Powerset. The Powerset search engine allows a person to form a search query based on natural sentences, instead of stringing together a series of keywords. Microsoft is hopeful that this technology can draw more people to the Live Search engine, as they continue to try and battle both Google and Yahoo in the lucrative market. Source: dBTechno
