Katrina mobile trailers still very dangerous

New Orleans-Now that many members of the refugees that were originally placed in mobile Trailers following the Katrina hurricane disaster in New Orleans have been relocated, the government has finally released a report dealing with their problems.

The trailers used in housing people following natural disasters and other calamities has come under much greater scrutiny since Hurricane Katrina.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency says there are still about 15,000 people that are living in trailers in the Gulf States but that many of the people that used to live in trailers have been successfully relocated.

Many of the trailers were giving off toxic fumes from the pressed wood and inferior construction materials that are being used in their walls.

After hundreds of residents began to fall ill and complain of headaches and other health problems from the heavy noxious fumes, FEMA and federal agencies stepped in and began to examine the trailers for problems.

They found high levels of chemicals were being released into the air from the walls, floors and ceilings of these trailers. The trailers were even releasing formaldehyde into the air, which can potentially be harmful even...
