The new study found that the chickenpox vaccine is indeed very effective, and needs to be adopted by more parents. They found that from 1995 to 2005, the vaccine was able to cut down on the number of hospitalizations due to chickenpox by 75%. The vaccine was also successful in cutting down on the number of deaths by 74%. In regards to kids, the vaccine was found to be most effective. From 1995 to 2005 the vaccine helped reduce the number of chickenpox cases in kids by a whopping 90%. The study was published in the journal Pediatrics. Source: ChattahBox
