November 17, 2008 Washington (dbTechno) - In an attempt to help Intel, Microsoft reportedly lowered the requirements for their Vista Capable label. Microsoft is facing quite a lawsuit in the U.S. which was brought on by U.S. consumers. The lawsuit states that computers purchased with the Vista Capable logo were only able to run the Vista Home Basic version of the operating system. Microsoft reportedly changed what was needed to get a Vista Capable logo to appease Intel. Intel reportedly wrote to Microsoft and asked them to delay the roll-out of the Vista Capable logos so they would not lose money. Microsoft, instead of blocking computers running the Intel 915 chipset, changed the requirements to let it pass. Source: dBTechno
