Boston Celtics star Kevin Garnett has been suspended for one NBA game for hitting Milwaukee's Australian centre Andrew Bogut in the face. The NBA announced the penalty on Monday for the incident which happened during the fourth quarter of the Celtics' 102-97 overtime victory at Milwaukee on Saturday. Bogut's left arm struck Garnett's mouth on the way down after the Australian drew a shooting foul near the basket and Garnett responded by slapping at Bogut, appearing to hit him in the forehead. Both players were assessed technical fouls, and Bogut was ejected because it was his second technical of the game. In his second season with the reigning NBA champions, Garnett is averaging 16.3 points and 9.8 rebounds. Boston leads the Atlantic Division with a 9-2 record. Bogut is averaging 11.2 points, 10.4 rebounds and 1.2 blocks for the Bucks (5-6).
